Why one should study at the Kenya Utalii College

Utalii College is a government initiated institution which came into existence when the government saw the potential offered by the tourism sector in the economic development of the country. It was started after the independence in 1975. The Kenya Utalii College is now the foremost institute of training for tourism and hotel management in Africa.

Excellence through a hands-on approach

The college aspires to be among the world's foremost institutes for providing excellent training in hospitality and travel industry. In partnership with Manchester Metropolitan University, it has initiated a program called "employability and entrepreneurship", intended to enhance business skills, thus helping the industry to grow and create more employment opportunities for its students. This arrangement allows the students to carry out a group consultancy project (GCP) to help increase the level of service and delivery in tourism.
 To give its students hands on training, the institute has a subsidiary, appropriately named the Utalii Hotel. The students get an opportunity to put to practice all their learning at the college. With its 57 rooms, kitchen and a well equipped lab, it perfectly serves as a platform for students to get exposure to various aspects of hotel management and industry.

The Utalii College Campuses

The college has opened other campuses at Mombasa and in Kisumu. The classes and mode of learning at the branches are modernized. These branches are well equipped with modern computer labs, kitchens and resting areas. These campuses also have wireless fidelity at the cafeteria and the waiting lounge where visitors can surf as they are waiting. These branches work closely with big hotels in Kenya like intercontinental at Mombasa for industrial training and hands on experience.
